Hummus

Hummus is a staple snack in our house. We make it often and eat it with vegetables . Sometimes we use variations by making with curry.

Recipe type: Appetizers and Snacks
This is a popular and healthy snack for our family. We eat it with fresh cut veggies like carrots, red bell peppers, celery, and we make it often with some variation.
Ingredients
  • 1 can of 13oz chickpeas
  • 1 small lime (juiced)
  • ½ cup of water
  • 1-2 cloves of garlic
  • 2 tbs. of tahini
  • 2 tbs of olive oil
  • ½ tsp of cumin
  • ⅛ cayenne
  • Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
  1. Using a food processor puree the chick peas with a ½ cup of water.
  2. Put the rest of the ingredients in the food processor, until smooth & serve.
Notes
We make hummus every week and use it as a healthy snack between meals with fresh cut veggies like carrots red bell peppers and celery.
