Australia Day: Bondi to Coogee Walk
The very first time we visited Australia and landed in Sydney it was on “Australia Day“. We had no clue that it was a holiday until we saw the Australia Day banners at Hyde Park. That’s when it all started to make sense why everything was closed. So we joined the crowds and went to Bondi beach to get something to eat, drink, and celebrate.
While at Bondi, we found out about the Bondi to Coogee walk. The day got even better when we decided to take on this walking adventure. We have done this walk several times since then, but every time we have discovered something new. Let us take you on a virtual walk. Enjoy!
Happy Australia Day! It’s that time of year when summer and national festivities collide! What better way to celebrate than to head outdoors for a fun day with family and friends. Like many coastal cities in Australia, Sydney’s eastern suburbs are blessed with picturesque beach coves to dash off to and enjoy.
The Bondi to Coogee Walk is one of Sydney’s more popular coastal walks that winds along the cliff side showcasing sights like artistically weathered sandstone, swift surfers, boogie boarders, and even a few Aboriginal line carvings if you keep a close eye out.
At a good strolling pace, the walk can take about 1.5 – 2 hours to complete each way (depending on how many photos you stop to take).
Here a couple of scenes from the walk to get your day started!
Bondi Beach: the coastal walk can be started at the south end of Bondi or from any of the beaches & headlands it connects onto.
